Trump warns of violence if GOP loses midterms

newsweek

It's not a question of like or dislike, it's a question that they will overturn everything that we've done and they will do it quickly and violently. And violently. There is violence. When you look at Antifa—these are violent people,” he continued.
“You have tremendous power,” the president told the pastors, who were gathered in the White House for a meal honoring evangelicals. “You were saying, in this room, you have people who preach to almost 200 million people. Depending on which Sunday we're talking about."
But the president’s comments were branded racist, with CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin commenting on Tuesday night that Trump’s decision to suggest Antifa would react violently smacked of discrimination.

“Let’s be clear also about what’s going on here,” Toobin said in a panel discussion with Wolf Blitzer. “The theme here is, ‘I’m Donald Trump and I’ll protect you from the scary black people.’ Antifa is widely perceived as an African-American organization, and this is just part of the same story of LeBron James and Don Lemon and Maxine Waters and the NFL players and the UCLA basketball players.

  1. Racism? Really? Antifa is a race now? And even if it was, with their faces covered, who'd know?

  2. Antifa is NOT a "Black" organization. They use Black Bloc tactics, including DRESSING in Black.

We really are at war with junk reporting like this. The President is right. Vote Republican or vote violence. Those are the options.

  3. By definition, according to the Left, anyone not on the Left is a racist Nazi.

That is not an exaggeration. That is the protocol of the Left. This "game" is for keeps.

Liberalism is the religion of the Left. The last Presidential election destroyed liberalism in America. The Left is responding pretty much the way you'd expect someone to respond given that their clay idol was smashed to smithereens.

The midterms will be a watershed moment. Either the Left makes a comeback. Or the last broken shards of liberalism will be swept up and discarded in the dustbin of history.

  4. Total nonsense, every word of what you wrote.

  5. Thank you Yehoshua for once again proving my point.

Your only response lately is to deny my viability to communicate by accosting my sanity, or, as here, to simply deny what is communicated.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the way of the Left.

  6. You are welcome. But if you persist in libeling a large portion of the population, I will persist in calling you out on it.

  7. Nah, liberalism is like herpes. Just when you think it's gone, it makes another outbreak.

  8. The Internet is a big place. Yuge, to use the terminology of a famous Jewish Leftist.

Show me ONE liberal who condemns the Antifa and their propensity to label their opponents as fascist, KKK, Nazi. Neo-Nazi, racist and/or etc.

And if you can't do that, at least explain to me why those opprobriums are not libelous when applied in one brush stroke to millions of people?

  9. Please stop identifying the left with Antifa. Antifa is fringe. The vast vast majority of left-of-center Americans have absolutely nothing to do with them.

  10. There are lots of liberals and I'm sure, given the law of averages, that some are intelligent and thoughtful people. I'm sure those folks do condemn Antifa but they probably can't do it loudly for the same reason pro-Tzahal Chareidim keep their voices down.

  11. For the record:

I did my own internet research just now. I found some condemnation by liberals of Antifa from about a year ago.

Didn't locate much recent public condemnation.

  12. Greta, now you are defending murderers. Nice company you keep.

  13. We are making progress. Or at least I am.

I've made a study of the videos and the circumstances surrounding James Fields and his actions the day of the Charlottesville rally.

Either you have, and you are dissimulating; or you haven't, and are buying into the prosecutor's and many in the media's narrative.

Simple test to determine which: please answer this question:

    Who is Prof. Dwayne Dixon?

  15. Exactly!

"Don't confuse me with the facts. They will give me intellectual indigestion. I live on a pure diet of media muffins."

  16. Yehoshua, my friend, the comments section is a ring to pursue truth. And you are a worthy sparring partner.

You have helped me illustrate many good points. I wouldn't have brought them out except for your contrasting comments.

I have no preconceived bias towards the left or right. But if I am wrong, and unknown to me I am biased, the public has your responses as a balance.

For the record, video evidence, available online, demonstrates that James Fields was harrassed by a rifle toting Antifa, and that his car was struck by Antifa both before and after he ploughed into a crowd of counter-protestors illegally blocking traffic in the middle of the street.

  17. Here is a liberal network interviewing Trump supporters.

  18. So I guess he pleaded guilty and went to jail for kicks?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Huh?

Where did you get that from? The trial is upcoming.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sorry, my mistake. Either way, as I am sure the jury will decide, being harassed, or having someone hit your car, does not justify murder.

  21. Murder is part state of mind.

According to Wikipedia and other sites, "Fields kept repeating 'I'm sorry' and asking if 'everyone was OK'."

Does that seem like the state of mind of a murderer? Fields is guilty, no doubt. But not of murder.

  22. Some people care for their country (Patriots). Others only care for themselves (Feiglinge). Than G-d that there are patriots like these:

  23. I like the statement by a Black man early on in the clip. His point, in my words, is that when you work for someone, you are obligated to do your job.

These players get access to milliins of people because they are on the clock. And they are putting out their own message, not some message that their bosses want put out.

That's close to stealing, if not stealing itself. Not much different than someone talking on the phone for personal reasons when they are supposed to be waiting on customers.

  24. On the other hand, you see how this progressive news network accurately represented the opinions of the Trump supporters. And even tried to engage them in civil and honest discussion. True progressives respect every citizen, even if we disagree. And we care about truth. On the right, I only see such candour from the likes of Shep Smith and Neil Cavuto. But we need more of this.

  25. It's hard to have dialog.

Dialog requires that each side present their side. Followed by hashing it out.

A dialog is successful when both sides are willing to learn from the other, even if they finish by still disagreeing.

But in the current political clime, we can't get to step one, laying out the arguments for each side, without the side representing the Right jeopardizing themselves.

I follow a Right wing show that is broadcast online. It's a popular show. The broadcaster honestly invites dialog with just about anyone. He has been deplatformed from virtually all social media (with one notable exception). He cannot find a credit card company so that he can take contributions to cover his costs and to sell items to his audience. People are concerned they will be doxed if they call in to his show. Etc etc.

The U.S. has free speech in principle, but not in practice for those on the Right. This stifles dialog between Left and Right.

  26. What was that you were saying?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did you follow the trial at all?

Are you aware of the flimsy proof the judge allowed as the basis that his act was premeditated?

If you think that that trial was a manifestation of justice, then I feel sorry for you if ever, Chas V'shalom, you find yourself falsely accused and on trial in a kangaroo court.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nice try. You said he would not be convicted of murder. He was. Now you say that the trial wasn't fair. If you reserve the right to move the goal posts whenever you are wrong, then yes, I concede that you will never be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I just went through the thread. I never said he wouldn't be convicted of murder. I said he's not guilty of murder. I still maintain that. The fact that he was convicted doesn't change my conviction.

The burden of proof is on you. Show me where I said he wouldn't be convicted.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You are correct; you did not say that. You still lose. Only tin-foil-hat wackos like you go for your nonsense conspiracy theories, a jury of his peers did not.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My hope at this point is that you will not be sitting on any jury that tries me for an alleged crime.

As an an aside, I am always experimenting with new ways to stay warm in the winter. One of the materials I've been experimenting with is Reflectix. It is is usually used on walls and pipes. It is foil that reflects radiated heat.

Some have been experimenting with making clothing from it. It had not occurred to me to line my Kipa with it. Thanks for the suggestion!
