Rabbi Auerbach should be praised. He sees the future and the future is that the government is coming to try to destroy the Charedim via it's traife military.
Is trying to destroy Chareidim not a Chillul Hashem? He doesn't want positive feelings for the Chareidim that were; he wants Chareidim to still be around.
Charedim for years now have been quietly pleading their case, working behind the scenes to prevent the draft. They have staged many polite protests. But the army obsessed government is pushing ahead. Thus, there's no choice. And if there's no choice it's not a chillul hashem. It's a kiddush Hashem. Military service would be the end of Charedi life. The army is so traife in so many ways. Your notions of chillul hashem are based on nice police america which honors religious freedom.
That's a separate issue. Rav Chaim does not disagree with the fact that they are trying to destroy Chareidi Jewry through the army. He just doesn't think that this is the best way to deal with it. However, there are many who agree with RSA, including those who were bullied and silenced.
Finally!!!
