Would appreciate any advice on dealing with this security problem.
I just received the following letter from Rivky Weiss with a request to post it. I have no independent knowledge of the allegations being made and I am simply presenting her claims.
I know everyone has a lot of questions about what happened to us. However we are still fragile and are not ready for public discussions about our marriage at the current moment. However in regards to the website redeemrivky - it was put up by my brother Ezra Stein who lives in Israel. He pressured me to go to the media and he created this website. I have asked him numerous times to take it down but he has refused. He has told me that I need to pay him money to take it down.
In regards to the go fund me website, I did not receive a dollar from it. My brother Ezra switched everything to his account and took all the money. He now refuses to take down the website. He doesn't seem to care for me or my children. He only saw an opportunity on how to make money off of me when I was in my most vulnerable and weak state .
When I was being evicted from my place I begged my brother Ezra to release some funds to me so I could find a place. He responded by telling me to go to a shelter with my children. I started looking for shelters but they were all full. Thank G-d, due to the kindness of one of my foster mothers I was able to secure a place for myself and my children.
I have asked Ezra on numerous occasions to take down the site. I am now publically asking him to please take down the website and that all the money that was donated should be given back to those who donated. That is simply because this money was given to help me in my time of need. Ezra refused to release the funds to me at that time and refused to give me any of the funds after the entire court process was over as well. Therefore I feel the right thing to do would be to refund the money.
Bottom line - I have no control over the website or the go fund me account that was made to help me. I have not received any of the funds that were donated. Only my brother has the legal authority to take them down and he has the money that was raised. He needs to take down the website and to return the money.

Mrs. Weiss, you can write letters to the rabbis of the Shuls he attends, the Yeshiva where he learnt and I' am sure they will help you. In addition of stealing your funds, he is guilty of wreckless endangerment in meddling with your fragile current status through promoting your past status fraudulently. As for the uncollected funds they belong to you al pi halacha, and if you wish to pay back your generous foster mother, by all means you can do so. If She refuses to accept, she can gift them to you and your children. it is not practical to return it to the sender for various practical reasons. He might not have records of who they might have been, many would refuse to have it returned after they executed the Mitzva bishleimus and would rather have you keep it in any event. Since we now know that you are working on a complete reconciliation and all us well wishers would prefer you doing that bitznius ubimnuchat hanefesh, let Rabbi Edensohn do the rest for you. Do not let these rabble rousers coming in from the back door causing trouble. We are all behind you, Hashem included. Hatzlacha rabbah! Amen.

I see a lesson not to intervene in any 2 people fighting. I also see a lesson not even to defend oneself before a complaining wife. Beautiful. My experience tells me though that if it would require any sacrifice on the part of the rav, most ra-bonim (to use your type of pun) would make a commiserating face if your lucky but do no more than that. And to your stipulation of 'no eirav rav please' let me remind you that the Divrei Chaim wrote that most ra-bonim are from the eirav rav.

ReplyDeleteIf they are really together legitimately and are really trying to work it through, the amount of trust, and forgivness needed in this relationship is beyond the capabilitie of most humans in this world. I really just can't wrap my head around it.

The word you meant to use is probably: reckless
the critical piece of information you are missing is that Yoel is a very special person who never took anything personally. So we are not dealing with an impossible burden of trust and forgiveness. The amount of pain and psychological destruction is strongly mediated by how the negative information is perceived as is true of all abuse. His wife also has special qualities which complement that of her husband.

I have no idea who Yoel is, nor who Rivky is, but the one thing I know to be 1000% true, is that with proper Emuna, Torah hashkafa and tremendous siyata dishmaya, no reconciliation is impossible, and that real Shalom can be achieved....
