  1. imho the issue at the end (sure we can all learn from each other and we should focus on bettering ourselves) bears careful thought. basically iiuc r'mt says if others don't recognize your legitimacy, that's hard to take but soldier on. unfortunately istm that the outcome of that could be a real schism (the classic concern of looking like there are 2 torahs) or the more accepting side losing its identity in order to gain legitimacy.

  2. Thanks for sharing - belonging to a mixed beis kenesset makes one more tolerant and open to see the real person behind the uniform. All communities have major problems but choose to focus on the problems of other communities. People will find it difficult to acknowledge the legitimacy of different leaders as some are not considered ' gedolim' in their eyes.
