An Orthodox Jewish charity known for its omnipresent radio jingles is embroiled in a federal lawsuit over $300,000 in scholarships that were allegedly promised to Jewish day school students.
Just a note and a question, to get some perspective.
Oorah was established and is run by Rabbi Chaim Mintz. Its Wikipedia article states that: "Oorah, Inc. was founded by Rabbi Chaim Mintz and its day-to-day operation is run by Rabbi Eliyohu Mintz (son of the founder) out of Lakewood, New Jersey." Rabbi Chaim Mintz is also a teacher and mashgiach in the Mesivta Tiferet Yerushalyim (MTJ) that's headed by Rav Dovid and Rav Reuven Feinstein. Their father, Rav Moshe Feinstein zt"l established a branch of the yeshiva on Staten Island (SI) one of the five boroughs of NYC and it's headed by Rav Reuven Feinstein who is Rabbi Mintz's boss, while Rabbi Mintz also has built up and runs Oorah.
Now it so happens that the "rival" RJJ yeshiva whose president is the famous Marvin Schick also moved to Staten Island years ago when it agreed to take over the financially floundering Jewish Foundation School that had been a more Modern Orthodox run school and still is although over the years the RJJ leaders have tried to make it frummer, but it still takes in the less frum kids, while MTJ headed by Rav Reuven Feinstein and with Rabbi Mintz as mashgiach only take in frum yeshiva kids in its high and dorm there.
So the interesting question is, where does Rav Reuven Feinstein and MTJ as Rabbi Mintz's boss stand in this case where the RJJ people took in less frum kids that Rabbi Mintz's Oorah recruited and promised to pay tuitions for but then begged off?
Hopefully this is not like the dreadful EJF/Tropper scenario where Rav Reuven Feinstein got himself involved with the disgraced and unfrocked Leib Tropper after Tropper had lured him in as EJF "chief rabbi" with Tom Kaplan donating millions to Rav Reuven Feinstein in exchange for his agreement to be the top EJF rabbi.
cause the bet din knows oorah wont comply with its decision, the bet din bows out.

instead of issuing a psak that so and so should pay $ within ten days (or whatever), it just bows out.
