  1. Sefardim never had a problem or even a rabbinic rule not to practice polygamy. And indeed Sefardim, Yemenites (Teimini Jews) practice polygamy into the modern era, with you often finding some today (especially Teimanim) still with multiple wives.

    So it's only a minhug and only applies to those of Ashkenaz under the Cherem Rabbenu Gershom (which itself technically expired already.)
