Haredi entertainer convicted of indecent acts

The Jerusalem Magistrates Court on Tuesday convicted haredi entertainer David Bruckner of indecent acts against a 12-year-old boy.

Bruckner was arrested in January 2010 over suspicions that he committed indecent acts against a 12-year-old. At the end of the investigation into the case he was indicted for four counts of indecent acts.

  1. I never heard of "David Bruckner", however I did hear of him by his stage name דוד החקיין, "David the Imitator".

My question is, do I have an obligation to believe that he actually did what the judge says he did? What happened to his חזקת כשרות, presumption of innocence?

"Bruckner admitted to meeting the child and admitted that the child visited his home but denied the charges and claimed that there was no sexual contact involved. Judge Gad Ernberg rejected his version of the events and convicted him".

No evidence. So all we have here is a: "he said, and he said".

That being said, just to be on the safe side, I still wouldn't feel comfortable sending my child to one of his performances here in Yerushalayim
