Since I am not involved in the field of social work or children's welfare, I haven't taken an active interest in this work, although I support the author and his aims.
ReplyDeleteHowever, upon considering the area that R @ Eidensohn is coming from, and the risks he is taking in publishing a revolutionary Sefer , and the "paradigm shift" that the Orthodox world must face in challenging this problem, then we have to remember that this struggle is not new.
The Torah and the Neviim had to fight against cultic abuse, eg molech, incest, and all the arayot.
20 years ago, a family were attacked by a Great Rav in London for going to the police for such a matter.
So even if there are those who prefer silence and denial, I believe this work and this field in general, can be likened to Milhemet Mitzvah.
