Hamas founder's son - converts & talks

Fox News:

"There is no chance. Is there any chance for fire to co-exist with the water?" said Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of one of the group's founding members. Yousef added: "It's not about Israel, it's not about Hamas: it's about both ideologies." Yousef, son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, one of the most influential leaders of the militant group, said the organization betrays the Palestinian cause and tortures its own members.

Hamas, formed in the late 1980's as an outgrowth of the Palestinian branch of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, is considered a terror organization by the U.S. government. Hamas seized power in the Gaza strip in 2007 in a violent coup against the more moderate Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas.

Yousef said he was indoctrinated at an early age to use violence to challenge Israeli control in the region. As a teenager he moved up within the organization and became the leader of the radical Islamic Youth Movement that fought Israeli tanks and troops in the streets, celebrated suicide bombings and recruited young men to the cause.

Yousef, 30, said he realized the true nature of Hamas and radical Islam during a stint in an Israeli prison. He renounced his Muslim faith, left his family behind in Ramallah and converted to Christianity.

"Islam is not the word of God," said Yousef. "If you want to be offended it's your problem. But you know something? Go study. Think for a second that I might be right. So wake up, look at your path, see where you're going. Are you really going to heaven with 72 virgins after you kill yourself and kill another 20 people?"

Yousef has sought asylum in the United States and now attends an evangelical Christian church in San Diego, Calif.

"The Hamas leadership, including my father, they're responsible; they're responsible for all the violence that happened from the organization. I know they describe it as reaction to Israeli aggression, but still, they are part of it and they had to make decisions in those operations against Israel (for) which there was the killing of many civilians." 1. Very intersting. how should one know if he is sincere?

I think that there is also a son of Osama Bin Laden traveling through the world and promoting peace and non-violence...

  2. Imagine what he has on his conscience, if he recruited young suicide bombers (send someone to kill himself, while he stays alive)

He did not recruit suicide bombers however he did admit that he may have blood on his hands anyhow because perhaps he may have inspired someone to join the ranks of the bombers through praising and extolling them.

  4. The whole thing reminded me of one of those 700 club self discovery stories about "how Im became a Born Again Christian".

  5. Walid Shoebat turned out to be a fraud.

The question that we need to ask when encountering these "Born Agains" is that if he was indeed involved in terrorist acts, why has he not been investigated by the Department of Justice and placed in jail for his crimes?

Does getting the “holy ghost” give him immunity from being arrested and tried in court for terrorism? If Bin Laden renounced terror, could he also go on speakers tours and collect nice honorariums for a living?

Most likely this guy, like Shoebat is a complete fraud, who is making a living spreading fear and hatred.

This is from Chabad's website on the Noahide laws:

    • Christianity, is absolute idolatry, not shittuf (partnership of deities), based on at least two of its beliefs (held almost universally by the estimated 1.9 billion Christians worldwide): (1) That the other two members of the "trinity" are of equal power and stature to Hashem (G-d forbid!), and (2) that the physical world is primarily under the dominion of the Satan, who is in an actual state of rebellion against G-d (G-d forbid!). Christianity, therefore, does not fit the definition of shittuf given by the Lubavitcher Rebbe ("Mayim Rabim," Sefer Hama'amarim vol. 1, pp. 51-62; 1957).

    • The Rambam, indeed, officially rules in three places that Christianity is idolatry and thus forbidden to gentiles (Mishneh Torah, Hilchos Ma'achalos Asuros 11:7 and Hilchos Avodas Kochavim 9:4; commentary on Mishnah, Avodah Zarah 1:3), and implies the same in a fourth place (Hilchos Melachim 11:4) (Note: these texts are censored from the standard editions of these works). The Rambam further rules that any religion which would believe in shittuf would also be prohibited to gentiles (Hilchos Melachim 9:2).

    • According to the Nodah Biyhudah,* the Rama agrees with the Rambam that any religion of shittuf would be forbidden to gentiles (nor did the Rama ever indicate that Christianity was shittuf rather than idolatry).

    • "Moshe Rabbeinu was commanded from the mouth of the Al-mighty to force all the inhabitants of the earth to accept the commandments that were commanded upon the descendants of Noah."

(Rambam, Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings 8:10)

The Pele Yoetz, Rabbi Eliezer Papo ztl says that given the choice we should always favor Muslims over Christians because the former are not idolators.

I have seen him (Bin Laden's son) in interviews and he talks through two sides of his mouth when he is asked about his views on terrorism. This man from Hamas has outright codemned his movement and his entire religion.

  7. The video is little more than a missionary video. It tells the story of a Muslim who converted to Yoshke Ponderic.

There is a tiny bit of information about the cruelty of Hamas and about the falsehood of Islam. Otherwise, it's a worthless video.

  8. I found this blog by searching "Hamas" on MSN, so I know I'm late on commenting, but I just wanted to add something to the discussion. Have any of you read Mosab Hassan Yousef's book, "Son of Hamas"? From my understanding, he actually wasn't a real terrorist, although he was on the path towards it. He worked with Shin Bet under the pretenses of being with Hamas, so he didn't cause any terrorist attacks against Israel, but prevented them. I'm not trying to sound insensitive, especially since this is coming from a stranger and you don't know me. My heart absolutely aches at the thought of the innocent lives that are being ruthlessly taken in Israel, and as naive or insincere any of you may interpret this, I really wish I could so something to make a difference in helping all the hurting souls in Israel. I'm not Jewish but it still hurts me and a lot of us to see them suffer. Although I feel so helpless, there is one thing that I can do that I know holds real weight and that is to pray to G-d for them. My heart pours out in prayer for them, and I pray for all of you too, because I know you suffer along with your brothers and sisters who are suffering in Israel. There is a verse that has been a comfort and stronghold for me, but it is from the NKJV (I'm sorry, I'm not sure how it is translated in the Tanakh!) "I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the L-rd in the land of the living." Psalm 27:13. I believe this because I have lived it and seen it over and over and over again. G-d is truly a righteous Judge. I wish I could do more to carry all of your burdens, but I know that what I can't do G-d will do and abundantly more. May the L-rd continually fill all of you with His peace, love, comfort, and even in times like these, His heavenly joy.
