Often when one comes to a Rov or even a Dayan asking advice – they say: get a lawyer, so the case ends up in the courts. There is an amazing R' Isaac Sher on the problem of going to secular courts even if they judge according to Jewish Law. When one goes to Beis Din, one does not go to win and not lose, to protect ones rights etc but to ask of Hashem through the Beis Din, what is the
right thing to do in this situation. Even if one loses the case, one should be
happy that the conflict has been resolved according to Hashem's will. So it is
a problem of education – not many people see going to Beis Din as R' Isaac Sher explains. People also don't have confidence in the Beis Din because of lack of understanding. Most problematic situations are not witnessed by 2 kosher witnesses, so people feel there is no point in going to a Beis Din.

The problem with Chilul Hashem caused by Frum Jews abusing children is
less about the abusers being frum and more about the community not taking
appropriate action which gives the impression that we don't care about childrenallan katznoreply@blogger.com
