How then, do we know if such a statement is or isn't actual HLM?<br /><br /><br />2) Some people speak of "teleological" halacha , eg the importance of Jewish unity, or mipnei darkei shalom etc. I once spoke to R' Bleich and he said "there is no such thing as teleological halacha".
