There are tens of thousands of baalei teshuva who have successfully navigated that transition.<br />The later, who believe in the Torah and use it to destroy others (and themselves) have no mechanism to improve. They use an unhealthy blend of violence and Torah to achieve their goal. I dont know of anyone who has done Teshuva from those evil ways.
